"Overview and design" p1 - very PoV
[edit]The Overview and design section of this article desperately needs work. In particular, the first paragraph is so incredibly PoV ("...NP was the ultimate source for detailed mapping and insider knowledge delivered directly from the programming teams") that it reads like, and very likely is, advertising copy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.20.238.74 (talk) 21:10, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Merge proposal

I propose merging the stub article Nintendo Power Line into a "Hotline" section on Nintendo Power. The former is very short (approx four sentences) and has not seen significant contributions or notable media coverage in some time. I believe the content would fit better on this page. - Oppose Per WP:NEXIST. There are easily enough sources out there to make a Good Article at least about the Nintendo Power Line itself. If you think the article is too small, WP:DIY.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 17:11, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Zxcvbnm: My proposal is not based on the article's current lack of notability-establishing sources, but my perceived lack of independent sources in general. I'm sure there's plenty of verifiable information in Nintendo Power magazine that could be included, and I'd be happy to add this material myself. But in my due dilligence, I struggled to find other reliable sources that establish that the hotline is notable as anything except as a footnote in the broader history of the magazine, and the stubbiness of the standalone article supports that. Ergo, merge. My research assistant (Google) is admittedly heavily biased toward recent online sources, but in what pre-2016 material I could find, the subject's coverage begins and ends with "In the 90s there was a Nintendo hotline you could call for game tips." - Support I'm not aware of any coverage addressing them separately, the current Line article is the stubbiest of stubs, and the Nintendo Power article is fairly short as is. If it gets unwieldy, we can always unmerge. But right now, they seem to go together quite well and there's not sufficiently separate coverage of them to warrant its own article. So I support this merge. DocFreeman24 (talk) 06:50, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Support I support this merge, since it's not only a small article, but it also reads like it was just part of the main Nintendo Power article at one point. CamiTheWitch (talk) 03:27, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

Fleeting mention of the podcast
[edit]I have noticed that the About template at the very beginning of the article says that said article is "about the magazine and podcast." Yet, the podcast is only seriously mentioned in the form of a lone paragraph at the back of the article. If the article is truly also about the podcast, surely there is at least a paragraph or more of material of the podcast to be mentioned. And maybe move that material a bit higher up. Thanks.
